Our Story

On Assignment TV was conceived by Debra Blair Abron, a trailblazer in community-driven media. Co-owner of The Elite News, North Texas’ oldest African American owned and operated newspaper, Debra’s journey began in 1970 when she stepped into the heart of Elite News. Guided by her father, the late William Blair, Jr., and working alongside her brother, Darryl E. Blair Sr., she embraced every facet of the newspaper’s operations. Her thirst for knowledge and dedication to her community propelled her into the role of Assistant Publisher, a position where she showcased her unwavering commitment to informing and empowering the African American church and community.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple yet profound: to inspire, uplift, and ignite positive change. We tackle important issues head-on, from spreading faith-based messages to raising awareness about vital topics like suicide prevention and domestic violence.
